It’s official. We have a major style crush on Laura Bailey.
Mother, model, writer, contributing editor to Vogue, OXFAM and BFC ambassador; this lady ihas a packed schedule, but always finds to time to make sure her fashion skills are on show. There are too many crush-worthy outfits in the boho queen’s style reel for us to run through all the reasons why we have such a soft spot for her closet, but here are our top 5.
1.She’s not afraid of the power frock
When it comes to the red carpet, Laura’s not afraid to go for it. A lover of the power frock, we’ve become accustomed to Miss Bailey’s dramatic dressing technique and rather love it. Emilia Wickstead is her go-to for gorgeous gowns, wearing a floor sweeping white number to this year’s BAFTA’s and an eye-popping pink dress to The British Fashion Awards. Now that’s how you make an entrance.
2.She works a one piece
Shunning the bikini in favour of the season’s must-have one-piece bather earns Laura plenty of holiday style stripes with us. Printed, cut out, this girl’s got all the trends nailed in one little swimsuit. Nice work, Laura.
3.She wears high street
Yes, it’s true. Laura is a high street fan, just like the rest of us. Stepping out in a cute Topshop crop top at the Skate Girls of Kabul exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery. Paired with her ’70s denim midi skirt and towering tan platforms, this look gave us plenty of inspo; we’ll be skipping straight down to Topshop come payday to nab the cute crop. Extra kudos for that orange lippy.
4.This girl knows how to layer
Want to perfect the art of layering? Miss Bailey has got it totally sussed. Spinning her summer frock for colder climes over a simple turtleneck and throwing a statement cardi over the top for good measure, Laura finishes the look with statement Chanel accessories and ankle boots.
5.She loves a slogan tee as much as we do
A big fan of Bella Freud’s cult slogans, :aura even makes them work for the red carpet. Styling it simply with a boyfriend blazer and soft up-do, or pimping it with a power print two-piece and a quirky clutch, Laura just proved that taking a style risk can pay off, big time.
