You know what we love about hair? Styles and cuts transcend weather, fashions and trends; a chic topknot works just as well in the middle of winter as it does on a sandy Spanish beach. Some may be a bit trickier than others, but hairstyles really are all-inclusive.
So, we were understandably excited when the LOOK Beauty team decided to pair up with hair experts VO5 for the mag’s latest beauty shoot. On set, we managed to catch VO5 ambassador and lead hairstylist Claire Rothstein for a behind-the-scenes tutorial – how to get effortless cool girl waves using the new creation hairsprays. Claire has tamed the tresses of super cool girls Daisy Lowe and Cara Delevingne to name but a few, so listen up, because this lady sure knows her stuff.
Tousled waves are a perennial beauty trend, and they’re not going anywhere fast. In the SS16 collections we spotted waves at Topshop Unique, Tibi and Versace. Perhaps the best thing about this style is that it takes next to no time to achieve it; all you’ll need for Claire’s tutorial is VO5’s Voluptuous Waves Creation Hairspray and a pair of straighteners – a tail comb and some large hair clips would be useful for sectioning off hair too. Curling hair with straighteners allows you to create waves that don’t look too ‘perfect’.
VO5’s Shape My Style Creation collection consists of three hairsprays – voluptuous waves, dramatic volume, and sublime sleek – all formulated to give locks your desired style. Each spray is ultra-lightweight, meaning if your style goes a bit haywire, it’ll easily brush out for you to start over. The new hairsprays are out now exclusively at Superdrug stores nationwide; and at £3.99 for 300ml, there’s no more excuses for boring hair days.
