Urban Outfitters In Trouble Over *This* Product

Urban Outfitters have withdrawn one of their shampoos from sale after a social media backlash.

The ‘peachy head’ shampoo was pulled from stores after Twitter users branded it to be inappropriate and insensitive.

The product description reads ‘Bring your locks back from a state of complete depression’. Hmm.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the packaging featured an image of hair throwing itself off a cliff with the words: ‘I never knew my once beautiful hair would actually commit suicide by tossing itself off dramatic white cliffs to the rocks below.’

A Twitter user slammed the store and wrote: ‘Urban Outfitters you should be ashamed – turning suicide into a pun to sell. Disgusting.’

Another wrote: ‘Suicide jokes are not OK.’

The shampoo, made by UK brand Anatomicals, is no longer available for sale on the company’s or Urban Outfitters’ website.

Paul Marshall, co-founder of Anatomicals confirmed the product had been taken down from the shelves.

Why Was This Calvin Klein Billboard So Offensive?

Marshall told the Huffington Post: ‘Peachy head has been on sale for a number of years now and continues to be loved by many customers. That’s not to say we fail to recognize that suicide, and particularly teenage suicide… And we would never wish to be seen as making light of it.”

Urban Outfitters also told MailOnline: ‘Although the product’s name is a humorous attempt to market a shampoo for hard to manage hair, we reevaluated and felt it was not appropriate and it was pulled from the Urban Outfitters website… We have instructed all of our UK stores to remove the product immediately.’

Hopefully this doesn’t happen again.
