New York Fashion Week Beauty Survival Kit

With 6am call times, backstage hustling, racing between shows across the capital and after-parties that have Sam coming home at 3am- surviving fashion month is a struggling in itself. Here are the beauty must-have’s she can’t live without for New York Fashion Week.

No Blow-Dry-Needed Styling Cream

In Manhattan’s crazy September humidity all I need is Bumble & Bumble Don’t Blow it, £23 through towel dried hair. While I hit the shows my hair dries into my natural curl- minus any frizz.

> Bumble & Bumble, Don’t Blow It, £12

Immune Boosting Sachets

Travelling makes me sick, especially during fashion week, so I take one of these Abundance & Health Altrient C, £29.95 (for 30 sachets) daily while I’m abroad. It keeps my immune system solid and my jet leg in check.

Totally Leg Treat

Puffy ankles aren’t ideal when I need to slip into strappy shoes on arrival. So, I smooth Legology Exfo-Lite, £42 (for five), from thigh to ankle, and over my stomach, as soon as I get to the hotel. It makes me feel lighter, less bloated and with seriously smooth skin.

> Legology Exfo-Lite Stimulating Salts, £42

Multi-Tasking Coconut

Backstage every model and make-up artist is drinking Vita Coco Water, but I’ve just discovered the Coconut Oil, £9, version of it. It’s amazing used as a hair mask and doubles up as a body lotion too.

Light-As-A-Feather Foundation

Smashbox new BB Water, £29, is genius! A light layer applied with just my fingers is perfect for the start of the day, then I add a few thicker layers with a brush for at night. No matter how many layers I apply it never looks cakey.

> Smashbox BB Water. £29

Tired Eyes Be Gone

Dark circles are my enemy, but Bobbi Brown’s new The Intensive Skin Serum Concealer, £28 has won me over. The thick formula covers my panda eyes, add is so creamy and hydrating I don’t need an eye cream underneath.

Day To Night Eyeliners

I spotted Maybelline New York Master Ink Liner in Shiny and Matte, £4.99, backstage and I knew I’d love them. I wear the shiny one with minimal make-up, and the matte one over my smokey eye. They also look really cool worn together.

Balmy Benefits

Lip balm is a must for travelling, and these EOS Lipbalms, £6.50 loved by Kim K are brilliant. They’re hydrating, and the clever shape makes them easy to apply. I like to add a touch to tops of my cheekbones for a subtle highlight too.

> EOS Lip Balm, £6.50

Autumn’s Hottest Accessory

Marc Jacobs Decadent, £69, fragrance is perfect for New York parties. It’s sexy with notes of jasmin and amber, but the iris freshness makes it wearable for day-time shows too. Plus the bottle is an accessory in itself.

Flutter Worthy Lashes

Trust Stila to come up with a mega-whatt mascara. This HUGE Extreme Lash Mascara, £18, thickens, volumises and adds the perfect curl. It was used at David Koma last season to give the outer lashes a little extra lift to rival falsies!
