Trend Alert: Say Hello To Holographic Nails

This year has been full of interesting nail trends, but holographic nails might be our favourite yet!

In the awkward transition period between summer and autumn, it can be hard to know what nail shade to opt for (#firstworldproblems).

At this point the weather is getting a little bit gloomy and we’ve exhausted every pastel, neon and bright nail trend in the book. It’s safe to say we’re defo ready to move on to autumn/winter nail shades BUT we can’t help but feel it’s a little bit premature for that right now.

So, you can imagine our excitement when a brand spanking new (and absolutely stunning) nail trend stepped on the scene.

Say hello to holographic nails, the most attractive nail trend around right now. It’s not only perfect for this time of year, but also is absolutely drop dead gawjus.

We mean, will you LOOK at that?!

Holographic nails are insanely unique and also totally Instagram-worthy, making it no surprise our news feeds are FLOODED with snapshots of the trend.

Unlike some other 2016 nail trends (hairy nails, we’re looking at you) holographic nails are completely wearable for every day of the week. Office appropriate and still beautiful? Yes and yes. Yay!

You’ll also be pleased to know this isn’t one of those trends that you need ultra long nails to flaunt. Both short nails and long claws look ah-mazing in this snazzy shade.

Beauty gurus Kandee Johnson and Jeffree Star have both declared their love for the nail trend on social media, praising just how “satisfying to watch” the cool claws are.

Kandee has also posted an in depth tutorial with nail queen Yvett of YVYNails on how to achieve the look on her Youtube channel… thank you Ms Johnson!

Kandee and Yvett recommend using a holographic nail powder to get the look, but there are also holographic nail polishes you can buy.

LOOK recommends… Nail Perfection Stardust Holographic Nail Powder, £2.49 and Urban Outfitters Holographic Nail Polish, £12.
