Have YOU ever thought about having plastic surgery?
Maybe you’ve considered undergoing a minor nip and tuck, or perhaps a bigger procedure has crossed your mind.
It’s likely that you’ve wondered about altering something, seeing as a new survey has revealed that one in 10 Brits are considering cosmetic treatment.
Yep. According to This Morning, 10% of us reckon we may be better off if we went under the surgeon’s knife.
But the ITV daytime show has also made it clear that people should be VERY cautious before deciding on a cosmetic procedure.
Not everything always goes to plan – and changing your looks can (obviously) be a pretty big deal.
Their poll also found that one in 10 Brits who’ve had cosmetic treatment have ended up ‘extremely dissatisfied’ with the results. Which is not a particularly positive percentage.
So why’s this?
Well. This Morning have reported that the number of people going abroad for plastic surgery has risen by 109% in the past two years.
This is most likely because hospital fees can be anything from a third to a half of the cost of treatment in the UK.
However, many foreign packages carry out their consultations online and offer just one night’s stay in hospital to recuperate. As expected, this can lead to some serious problems.
And after flying home, it can be difficult for patients to receive any follow-up care.
When cosmetic surgeon Chris Inglefield appeared on the programme to chat about the results of the poll, he revealed that he sees between one and two botched foreign jobs every month.
Now that’s pretty blimmin’ scary, right?
So while we’re all for body confidence, we think it’s very important that you think any kind of surgery through thoroughly.
