Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards took to her Instagram to post an OOTD yesterday. But little did she know the mayhem it would cause…
The engaged singer captured her usual boho style with black jeans, a white peasant top and lace-up sandals, but with one exception – a red, white and purple statement headscarf.
We were totally feeling this Arabian-inspired accessory injection, which we thought looked super cool against her blonde beachy waves, and then we read the comments underneath. And we had a right old LOL.
‘Harry wannabe’, wrote one Instagram user. ‘She wants to be Harry so bad’, posted another. Has Perrie been taking style inspiration from the One Direction boybander, who is known for his edgy headscarves?
Perhaps, or perhaps Perrie thought this one up all on her own. Either way, the resemblance is uncanny…
In other news, the Little Mix girls went all out with the 90s trend last weekend.
Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson performed at London club Sink The Pink after being made up with some very dramatic hair and body glitter (remember that stuff?!).
The girls all had vibrant sparkles in their partings and around their eyes, with each band member working a different colour. Jade, 22, had chosen blue, 21-year-old Perrie was rocking purple and Leigh-Anne, 23, went for green.
Jesy’s classic silver look perfectly suited her rock chick style.
The group ensured their eye make-up did *all* the talking by pairing it with super-long falsies, dramatic eyeliner flicks and just a slick of nude lipstick.
Well. If anyone can pull it off, it’s definitely these ladies.
Jade was clearly a big fan of her retro visage, captioning an Instagram photo: ‘Beat for days. The house down. boots! #nofilter needed with @aaroncarlohair @adamburrell @sinkthepinkldn was one of the best shows of my life!’
An excited Jesy, 24, said: ‘Sink the Pink were coming for ya,’ while Perrie added: ‘Get me on stageeeee! Can’t wait @SinkThePinkLdn.’
Jade loved her blue sparkles so much she recreated her look the next day to watch Grace Jones perform in London’s Hyde Park.
However, LM aren’t the only people who’ve sported hair and body glitter over the past couple of months.
Back in May, Miley Cyrus covered herself a large amount of shimmery sprinkles before a gig at the Adult Swim Upfront Party in New York’s Terminal 5.
If you fancy trying the 90s look, we’ve found a hair and body glitter that’ll give you a similar effect for just £3.
For a more subtle sheen, place a small amount on your hands before carefully dabbing in the corners of your eyes and running your fingers through your locks.
If you’re after more over-the-top metallics, have a bit of fun with it and apply liberally. However, we do recommend doing this in your bathroom. Things *could* get pretty messy.
