Not everyone likes lipsticks. Surprisingly, I used to be one of these people, a recent lipstick lover convert, I used to find that lip colours looked a bit too intense on me.
Even now, I rarely stray from my large assortment of nudes, and only rock a red or punchy pink on a very special occasion. Sheerer colours are definitely my thing, both on the lips and the skin, which is why the wave of new balmy lip colours has been music to my ears.
Not only are they amazingly hydrating and leave your lips super smooth and soft, they also provide just enough colour to be noticeable, but not enough to be too much.
My favourtie of the lot is Clarins’ Instant Light Lip Balm perfector, £18. A beautiful balmy gel that feels like butter on your lips and melts in leaving a flash of barely-there colour, it’s super hydrating and smells divine.
If you suffer from dry lips in either the summer of winter then you’ll know how hard it is to wear lipstick, you might even just avoid them all together because they can be quite drying and they never look good on cracked lips.
So, instead of routinely layering on your go-to lip balm, grab one of these, they are the perfect hybrid lip product, especially now that summer has come and sheerer, softer, more natural looking colours are on trend.
They come in 6 glossy colours and even the red one is subtle enough to be worn by even the least of lipstick lovers!
