Last night, at the UK premiere of We’re The Millers, Jennifer Aniston stole the spotlight by ditching her signature LBD and sleek, poker-straight hair in favour of a girlie frock and perfectly tousled, voluminous waves. Well, we have serious hair envy. Jen has always been our hair-spiration so here’s how to get authentic California girl beachy waves:
1. Use a volumising mousse to give roots a boost, fatten strands and make your style easier to sculpt. Apply a generous dollop of Bumble And Bumble’s Thickening Full Form Mousse, £21.50, to damp hair.
2. To fend off frizz and sculpt those soft waves (that won’t crunch when you scrunch) mist a beach spray, such as Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray, £7.19, into the roots and all the way down the strands.
3. Blow-dry your hair with a diffuser (tilt your head upside down to get as much volume as possible) and wrap inch-thick sections, from the root to the mid-shaft, around the barrel of a clip-less curling iron, such as Hersheson Tourmaline Professional Waving Tong, £110. Leave the ends for that natural, windswept look and then brush through to dishevel your boho waves.
