Kirsty Gallacher Reveals How She Got Body Confident

There’s no denying that Kirsty Gallacher has an ah-mazing figure.

The 39-year-old looked incredible as she sashayed onto the dance floor for the first episode of Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

But now she’s got very honest about how she lost confidence following the birth of her two children and break-up of her 15-year relationship last year.

Luckily, Kirsty’s since become more positive about her body (and so she should), although she still isn’t 100% happy with the way she looks.

‘If I was going to rate my body confidence out of 10, I’d say seven,’ Kirsty tells Women’s Health.

‘This time last year, it would’ve been much lower, but after a divorce and juggling full-time work with two kids, I made the decision to start channelling my energy only into positive things.

‘And that includes getting into shape.’

Kirsty – who’s been partnered with Brendan Cole on Strictly – has found herself becoming more confident as she gets older.

She continues: ‘I’m turning 40 soon, but age means nothing if you look after yourself, I’ve become wiser over the years and I know what makes my body tick – I just wish I’d realised it sooner.

‘I enjoy my body more when I keep it fit and healthy – it’s important to be in touch with your body; I love the fact the fact that I am.’

So how *did* Kirsty achieve her smokin’ bod? Well, she works out three times a week with celebrity trainer Josh Salzmann. Hardcore.

The hour-long sessions have helped her drop 7lbs and two dress sizes, meaning she now weighs 8st.

‘My body has changed into a more athletic physique. I’ve always looked up to women with that kind of figure – Madonna, Jessica Ennis-Hill – what bodies!’ says Kirsty.

‘The more I train, the more I want to eat healthily so I never, ever snack. I’m not interested in food other than to fuel my body; sushi and poached eggs are my go-to dishes.’
