Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014: Our Favourite Updo Hairstyles

Amy Adams, Hannah Simone, Kerry Washington and Malin Ackerman showed us how to pull off the ultimate updo this weekend. The four lovely ladies were spotted on the red carpet at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and each one perfected a flawless, award-worthy hairstyle.

Amy Adams embraced old-school glamour with a polished ’20s roll. If you fancy giving this look a go, make sure you finish with a spritz of Lee Stafford Shine Head Spray, £5.49 – it’s fab for cheating the polished look, pronto.

Kerry Washington nailed the prima ballerina look with a pretty bun and black satin ribbon. If your locks are more naughty than nice when it comes to smoothing it into the perfect bun, why not cheat the look with Beauty Works Clip In Ballerina Bun, £22.99? Now even short-haired ladies can rock the ’do.

Blonde beauty, Malin Ackerman, wowed us with a gorgeous braided style, keeping her hair off her face and plaiting the length. If you’re going to copy her style, make sure you spritz a comb with hairspray to tame any flyaways. Bumble And Bumble’s Spray De Mode Hairspray, £21.50, is a fave at LOOK HQ for its non-sticky finish and budge-proof hold.

Finally, Hannah Simone rocked a simple but chic boufffant bun. The trick with this hairstyle is not to be fussy – the messier your hair, the better. Add extra texture with Oribe Dry Texturising Spray, £38. The matte finish will keep locks thick without being crispy.

Thanks for the hair-spiration, ladies!
