We caught up with the fabulous Pixie Lott ahead of this year’s TV BAFTA’s, to find out what life is like with a million-mile-an-hour schedule, a gorgeous model boyfriend of 5 years, and, her current beauty and fashion faves…
What’s your best tip for staying in shape?
My top tip would be to dance. It’s like a full body workout but you don’t realize you’re working out because its so much fun. You don’t even have to be a good dancer, just book in for a beginners Zumba class.
What’s the one beauty product you couldn’t live without?
I’ve become really aware of what a difference it makes when your skin looks good. So I always make sure I use the Magnitone Cleansing Brush, £69.99, because it gives skin a really deep clean and leaves it looking healthy.
When your schedule is hectic, what’s your best make-up trick for hiding tiredness?
My favourite thing is my MAC Crème Colour Base in Pearl, £15.50, you just put it on the top of your cheekbones and it instantly makes skin glow. If you’ve been on a flight or even just had a long day, just dab that pearl highlighter onto your cheeks and you’ll look wide awake again.
You’ve recently had a full fringe cut, what made you decide to go for the chop?
I’ve had the same hairstyle for a while and I wanted to do something different, I didn’t want to cut it short or dye it a different colour, so I thought, what can I do that isn’t too drastic? One day I just said to my stylist, let’s just go for a fringe! It’s also really easy to style, because you can wear it down, or just slick it to the side.
Your blow-dry always looks flawless, what’s the secret?
I’m actually terrible at blow-drying my own hair, it’s really curly so I find it hard to style. I go to a salon in London called, Taylor Taylor and they do it really well. If I want to get an extra day out of my blow-dry I just spray the roots with Batiste’s Dry Shampoo, £1.47, to give volume and keep it from falling flat.
What’s it really like having a model as a boyfriend – does he use more products than you?
He’s got some good products, that’s for sure! And I’m sure he must steal some of mine too! [laughs]. He’s into all that sort of stuff, he loves fashion too. His cousins and my brother are always coming to him for advice on what to wear!
What’s it like living together? Do you have any little rituals or date nights?
Yeah we do loads of movie nights and always go out for dinners, but our schedules are always very different so we can’t really plan ahead.
Who are your favourite people to follow on instagram?
I’ve only just started getting into Instagram, at first I found it kind of weird, following people that I didn’t know. The first other singer I followed was Eliza Doolittle, because I met her and she was like ‘Oh I’ll follow you on instagram’ so I was like ‘Ok, well I’ll follow you back then!’ I’d see her at events every now and then, but because I don’t follow that many people I knew exactly what she’d been up too! It was a bit weird [laughs]. I’ve started following more people now, because my boyfriend Oliver follows tons, and he convinced me that’s what instagram is all about. I’ve started following my favourite fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana.
What are the last four things you bought from the highstreet?
I love H&M, I recently bought a really nice white embroidered waistcoat with fringing, £29.99 and a blue and white blouse with a cool 70s pattern, £14.99. I also got a cool off-the shoulder balck top from American Apparel, £26 and a suede denim-style jacket from Levi’s, £474.90.> A 70s blouse and super-cute waistcoat? Pixie is seriously style savvy…
