If you’ve been tuning into your social media feeds this weekend you’ll know one of the biggest festivals of the year is happening right now…Coachella. Luckily, our Beauty Editor made her way across the pond with Kiehl’s to sunny Palm Springs to party, dance and soak up the desert weather with Zara Martin and Millie Mackintosh for the first festival of the season. Here’s what they got up to…
Thursday 9th April
We left raining London and landed in a balmy LAX on Thursday night. Both Zara and Millie arrived in LA a few days before me topping up their tans and festival wardrobes, so we decided to meet up at the nearest In-n-Out for a cheeky burger and chips before driving three hours into the desert to get to Coachella, Palm Springs. After a long journey it was 12am by the time we arrived so a good nights sleep was in order.
Friday 10th April
On day one the first party of the day was hosted by One Model Management at the coolest villa, ever. Being high up in the mountains the view over looking the whole of Palm Springs was pretty amazing! Zara had her first DJ set since arriving, she was playing amazing tunes that you can download and listen to yourself from her very own Kiehls x Coachella by Zara Martin playlist on Spotify.
There was also amazing cocktails and a kissing booth, decorated in blossoming flowers which you could have your selfie taken in.
Next stop was the Soho House pop up event at Soho Desert House, sponsored by Coach at another amazing house right on the lake. With a guest that included Jourdan Dunn, Laura Whitmore and Daisy Lowe it was definitely the place to be. There were Coach paper fans on the tables along with Aztec print transfer tattoos for us all to play with.
After leaving the party we headed to the festival to see the amazing AC/DC and Alesso.
Saturday 11th April
The first event of day two was to head to the festival for our shoot with Zara – which is out in two weeks time. Zara showcased some amazing outfits from Miss Selfridge and Millie’s new SS15 range along with super cute accessories from Diva and Coach.
We then headed to the very chilled Kiehl’s Pop-Up Retreat where they had nail artists from Vanity Projects, a hair and makeup team from Glam Squad, a Ray Ban cabin and a Kiehl’s shop on-site to keep us entertained (and pampered obviously).
After an amazing day we then headed to the festival to catch Kasabian, FKA Twigs and The Weeknd perform, oh and head to a seriously fun Neon Carnival, which as it suggestions…was a carnival with raving madness.
Sunday 12th April
We got home pretty late from the carnival so a late start was A MUST for day three! We did some more pictures with the girls at the festival then headed back to the hotel to have a tour around Zara and Millie’s boudoir- all to be revealed in a video on our website soon- stay tuned!!
We headed back to the glamorous Soho House to continue partying, while soaking up the sun in true Coachella style with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Leonardo Decaprio and Katy Perry. After visiting the braid by by Salon Benjamin it was time to get to the festival.
We were all SO excited to see the amazing Drake, Vance Joy and Kygo. The highlight for sure of the whole weekend!
