Miley Cyrus has had a run in with her eyelash curler.
The Wrecking Ball singer took to Instagram to show off the results of her beauty fail. And, we’ll warn you now, it’s not viewing-appropriate for those that are a little squeamish.
In her attempt at achieving the perfect curly lashes, Miley seems to have lost a chunk of them. She captioned her close-up: ‘F****** curler chopped my dayummmm lash!’
Upon close inspection (if you can bare to zoom in) Miley’s missing lashes are clearly visible.
Eyelash curlers have long been a part of our make-up bags. And as disturbing as this snap is – sorry, Miley – we won’t be ditching ours any time soon.
It’s just important to make sure that you’re using them properly, and our beauty experts give you a rundown of what you should be doing.
1. Make sure your eyelashes are completely make-up free.
Any leftover liquid liner or clumps of mascara may cause the curlers to stick to your lashes.
This greatly increases the chances of a Miley-style fail to occur.
2. Position is key.
You obviously want to get your curler as close to the eyelid as possible, but make sure you don’t pinch the skin.
This will come with practice, and it’s probably best to start further out and work your way in, as you become more comfortable with your curling tool.
3. Heat your curlers with a hairdryer.
If you want to get the most from your eyelash curlers, make them warm with this simple hack – but be careful they’re not too hot!
4. NEVER curl your bottom lashes.
We just don’t recommend it, ladies.
5. Gradually move your curler from root to tip, curling as you go.
This gives a fuller and more dramatic curl, as oppose to a single flick.
We’re sorry to see Miley’s mishap.
But hopefully, with these tips, you’ll be curling like a boss in no time.
