MAC is taking us back to the 90s with their super-cute new #MACGoodLuckTrolls collection.
We’ve seen some amazing throwback offerings from MAC in the past – favourites include Barbie Loves MAC from 2007, the Venomous Villains launch of 2010, and the 2014 bright yellow Simpsons release. Now, they’ve gone one step further, and created a collection devoted to the toy of the 90s: the trolls!
#MACGoodLuckTrolls is all about feeling like a kid again: think brightly coloured glosses, shadows, shimmers and powders, with a hint of craziness thrown in for good measure.
There’s a big emphasis on colour and out-there textures (as you’d expect from the hairy-rainbow-hued dolls), along with some surprisingly tame additions that feature in MAC’s regular collection.
Our faves from the regular line-up are Sushi Kiss (a creamy peachy-pink lipstick), Play It Proper (a cool-toned, soft-shimmer beauty powder), and Black Tied (a sparkly, deep black shadow).
With names like Bubble Butt, Twerkquoise, Glow Rida and Silly Vanilly, MAC clearly want us to see the funny side of beauty, and get experimenting with their colourful combinations.
The brightest of the bunch include Twerkquoise, a vibrant blue gloss that creates a sheer berry wash on the lips, Paradiso, a matte peach shadow that screams summer, and Midnight Troll, an indigo blue lipstick that looks surprisingly flattering on pretty much any skin tones.
We’re kind of obsessed with this playful new collection, and pretty sure it’s going to sell out when it launches in July 2016. Until then, get your troll dolls out, and start reminiscing about your childhood days – we predict this throwback theme isn’t going away anytime soon!
