Yep you heard it hear first, ‘light-lining’ is the new go-to technique for make-up artists as it’s guaranteed to erase all signs of fatigue. And the best bit? It’s ridiculously simple to recreate.

All you need is a light eyeliner (preferably lighter than your skin tone) with a pearlescent finish. You then trace the waterline of your eyes with the glossy-finish pencil, not only will it neutralise any redness, but the light-reflecting formula will make eyes appear bigger and brighter.

A couple of favourites eye pencils that are perfect for light-lining are Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Yeyo, £15.50, and the fab Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Eye Pencil in Pink Gold, £16.50. Both are sheer enough not to look stark whilst still packing enough of a punch to brighten up eyes in one swipe.

Be sure to trace only your waterline when light-lining, and then take your regular eyeliner along your lashline, as this will add the extra definition your peepers need to have an impact.

In the past couple of weeks we’ve seen the like of Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, Khloe Kardashian and Heidi Klum embrace light-lining, so if it’s good enough for them, we’re definitely getting on board with this trick.
