In-Flight Beauty: Our Favourite Long-Haul Luminisers

How does Victoria Beckham avoid having ‘long-haul flight’ written all over her face when she struts through Arrivals? She wears sunglasses, yes. But she also relies on a carefully curated SOS skincare kit to revive her travel-weary complexion. To make it into your hand luggage, a beauty product must come in under 100ml (obvs) and it has to be worth its weight in glow-giving properties. So here’s our expert in-flight edit.

  • We love the hand lotions from cult US brand EOSEOS Hand Lotion in Cucumber, £8, in particular. Don’t be fooled by the cute pastel-hued packaging – the formula is a powerhouse of antioxidants and vitamins C and E to soften and protect hands.
  • Smother Lanolips 101 Ointment, £11 (Victoriahealth.com), over your lips before you take off to stave off the dreaded parched mouth (we’re convinced it lasts at least eight hours). But it’s so much more than a lip aid – you can rub it into dry cuticles and cracked heels, soothe sunburn and even swipe it over wayward brows for a sleek, groomed look.
  • Anything to declare? Yes! We refuse to fly without Kiehl’s In-Flight Refreshing Facial Mist, £13. It contains cactus flower extract (which continuously hydrates over 24 hours – fact) and Titbetan ginseng (a mountain plant which actually boosts skin-cell respiration at high altitudes). Definitely one for your carry-on!
