Hairstyle inspiration is something we’re always on the look out for, and what better place to start than this season’s hottest catwalks? We went backstage at the likes of Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Alexis Mabille and Desigual, where we spotted models working our favourite new hair trend – big, tumbling curls.
Love this look as much as we do? Well, you’re in luck – we caught up with Mark Hampton, global ambassador for Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe and the lead stylist at Vivienne Westwood Red Label, to find out the secret styling tips behind the glamorous curly updo.
Step One: Prep your hair by spritzing the lengths with Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Prep Heat Protection Mist, £6.39.
Step Two: Work Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour Spritz and Shine Liquid Mousse, £6.99, through your hair. Be generous, making sure strands are covered from root to tip.
Step Three: Blow-dry hair roughly and then, section by section, curl hair using Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Reverse Conical Wand, £29.99. Pin each curl in place and allow them to cool for 10 minutes.
Step Four: Remove pins and run your fingers through the curls to soften them. Pull the majority of your hair back and tie it off with an elastic, leaving a few curls hanging down around your hairline.
Step Five: Place Asos Small Hair Donut, £5, underneath your ponytail at the nape of your neck and pin the hair from your pony over the donut. Then spray Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray, £6.99, to set. Finally, tease some of the loose curls with your fingers and pull a few extra down around your face.
There you have it! It’s no wonder we’re crushing on curls this season.
