Giovanna Fletcher Hits Back At Body Shaming Perfectly

Giovanna Fletcher has opened up about being body shamed… just ELEVEN days after giving birth.

The 31-year-old welcomed her second son Buddy Bob with McFly husband Tom last month, two years after becoming mum to toddler Buzz.

Of course, this is a joyous time for the couple. But unfortunately for Giovanna, one person couldn’t help making a nasty comment about her post-pregnancy body. *Sigh*.

Giovanna uploaded a full-length photo to Instagram yesterday, which showed her looking happy and healthy. However, in the picture’s caption, she revealed that someone had made a comment about the size of her stomach.

She wrote: ‘A few days ago I had a near stranger point at my stomach, laugh and say ‘Oh look, Mummy’s still got her tummy’. This was eleven days after giving birth. I was so shocked I laughed.

‘But the words have stuck with me. Obviously. It wasn’t left there either as there was another comment about my face ‘slimming down’. More than anything, I was baffled over the stranger’s need to share her thoughts…

‘Yes, I still have a bump. But that bump kept my little baby boy safe for a whole nine months. That bump has filled my world with even more love and light than I knew possible.

‘That bump is a miracle worker… My bump will slowly go over time, but I’ll never stop being thankful to it and my body for everything it’s given me. #spreadlove xx.’

Happily, Giovanna was quickly inundated with supportive messages.

Comments included: ‘You look like a gorgeous new (for the 2nd time Mummy) pay no attention to such thoughtlessness beautiful lady x,’ and: ‘Still beautiful with or without bump.’

Others echoed her sentiment, with one fan writing: ‘I still have my bump and my second son is 11 months old… I’ll get rid of it eventually!!! Once I’ve stopped breastfeeding X.’

We’re totally with Gi’s #spreadlove movement. And congratulations again, lady!
