A wonderfully original oriental theme ran through yesterdays SS’15 Armani Prive Couture show. Large bamboo poles accompanied the models along the sides of the catwalk, gowns were covered in leaf print and even the earrings contained delicate bamboo branches.
Our favorite part of the show however, was the beautifully crafted but super simple hair. Models sported long, low ponies that looked like bamboo shoots, with black ribbon tied down the lengths. The best part about this look is its simplicity, although it looks mega chic, it can be recreated at home in just under 5 mins!
To start, part your hair in the center and draw into a low pony at the base of the neck. The top of the hair was slicked down in the show creating a wet look, but a layer of hairspray will do the trick at keeping flyaways in place, without making your roots look oily.
If your hair is on the shorter side and you want to add length to maximize your bamboo pony, use a clip in extension like BeautyWorks Sleek Wrap Around Ponytail, they’re really easy to use. To keep it looking authentic, buy a reel of black ribbon, cut it into small strips and tie around the length of the pony.
To finish, wrap a length of ribbon around the top of the pony and tie tightly in a knot.
