Ferne McCann has opened up about a very serious health issue.
The ex-TOWIE star, 25, is warning fans against using sunbeds, after having a terrifying skin cancer scare of her own.
Ferne admits that she used to be a big fan of topping up her tan in the salon, telling Now: ‘I used to use sunbeds all the time.’
But she’s now ditched them completely – and for a very good reason.
She continues: ‘I’m totally against them now. In Essex especially, it’s such a thing to use one before a big night out, but it shouldn’t be. It’s not healthy at all.’
Ferne made this (very sensible) decision when she grew concerned over two moles on her skin.
‘I had two moles come up on my face, so went to see the doctor who said I should get them removed as soon as possible,’ she explains.
‘Thankfully they weren’t [cancerous] but it took this scare to make me realise how dangerous sunbeds can be.’
Since taking a break from TOWIE, Ferne has competed in I’m A Celebrity and become a showbiz reporter on This Morning.
Viewers of ITV’s daytime show will know that she’s still rocking a healthy-looking bronzed glow when she chats to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the sofa.
However, she’s getting it in very different ways these days.
She often shares snaps of herself fake tanning on her Instagram page, recently captioning a selfie: ‘Been keeping my tan up by using @bondisands everyday gradual milk.’
