New Must Have: Denim Hair Trend

With denim gracing the catwalks for the likes of Celine and Chanel, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the trend has now inspired hair colour. From Stonewash to Indigo to Midnight Ink, these denim hair colours are fast becoming a must-have!

Adam Reed, one half of the Percy & Reed salon, created three denim-esque options that will suit all hair colours, hair types and skin tones. Using L’Oreal Professionel colour technology he came up with these multi-tonal looks that bring out the best of your natural colour.

Stonewash is the lightest look, it’s a modern take on the classic rinse and creates a super soft shade with a hint of silver. The second look is Indigo, which adds warmth to slightly darker hair. Lastly, Midnight Ink is for much darker hair, it appears blue-black and gives you an air of sophistication and the ultimate statement.

We’re not talking smurf-like here, we’re talking gorgeously subtle yet rich blue tones that make your locks pop with the slightest shades of blues. It’s super insta-worthy, and if you opt for the blue filter, you’re sure to get some likes!

You can go to the Percy & Reed salon in London to get it done, but unfortunately for now, that’s the only place. However, from the looks of things it’s well worth the travel if you live elsewhere! Prices for colour at Percy & Reed start from £70 colour with Adam Reed starts at £190.

The key to the trend is to forget about a block colour of blue, but for it to be a perfect faded effect and keep it softly multi-tonal. We’re not thinking 15 year-old emo phase, we’re thinking more along the lines of a sultry, mysterious woman with a hint of sass.

This edgy look isn’t over powering but makes you look super cool too, and pretty chic if you ask us. For blondes they will create a light shade, for brunettes a slightly darker one, and for super dark hair they will make it a gorgeous deep dark blue.
