Chrissy Teigen genuinely seems like one of the most sassy (and most confident) celebrity women out there, right?
Whether she’s poking fun at her red carpet gown or showing off the multi-coloured cereal she ate that day, she always seems totally at ease with her body and her lifestyle.
But in a new interview, the 29-year-old Sports Illustrated beauty has opened up about a tough period of her life, when she struggled with her weight.
Speaking about how she used to obsessively weigh herself before she became a model, Chrissy labelled it her ‘neurosis’ and said it only became worse as she broke into the fashion industry.
But now that she’s pregnant, the self-confessed foodie says she finally feels comfortable to relax her attitude towards her diet.
‘I’ve got an excuse now, so I’m going for it, because my whole life I’ve had to watch my weight,’ she revealed on her US chat show FabLife.
‘I’ve weighed myself three to five times a day since I was 15 years old…’
Chrissy continued: ‘It’s horrible. Growing up, I knew my weight in the morning, in the afternoon and at night; I knew what my weight should be.’
‘Some call it discipline but it’s actually like, a neurosis, it’s horrible, it’s bad, so now it’s nice to just kind of let loose and not have to care so much.’
This only makes the fact that she’s been food-shamed during her pregnancy even worse.
The model was subjected to cruel comments about her eating habits (which she openly shares on Instagram), and took to Twitter to speak out about it.
‘If you wanna give me unsolicited baby advice on the damn cereal I eat/what I wear, u better unlock your profile so I can see your perfection,’ she blasted on Twitter.
‘Yes I am living off dyed food. Tuna too!! Gonna try to dye my tuna actually. Then have an icy, dyed vodka soda and that’s just lunch.’
Always done in true Teigen style…
