Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will NOT take body shaming lightly.
The singer, 32, has reportedly hit back at a cruel Instagram troll who told her she looked like ‘a bag of bones’ in a recent Instagram photo.
Um. How mean?
Chezza is said to have replied to the harsh comment with the heartfelt retort: ‘I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call somebody to thin or “a bag of bones”!
‘I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake ? What is the difference ?
She then went on to reference the recent death of her husband Jean-Bernard’s father, saying: ‘Just loosing my father in law v recently and everything that comes with that.
‘Not that I am or should justify myself to anyone. I’m so f sick of people thinking it’s ok to be mean or body shame anyone.
‘And it’s woman on woman. Have some respect and maybe think there may be reasons why before opening your mouth please.
‘I am just tired of the ignorance…At some point it’s just enough. Some people are naturally thin. My mother is all of 4’11 and six stone something. And is incredible healthy and happy.’
WOAH. That’s some rant, Cheryl.
The comments can no longer be seen on Cheryl’s page, so they may have been deleted. But they’re believed to have originally appeared on an image from her 32nd birthday in Italy last week.
Jean-Bernard had very romantically whisked her off abroad in what was potentially the most ah-mazing birthday surprise ever.
Chezza told fans at the time: ‘When you’re asked what you would like to have for your birthday dinner and you say lets go to a nice Italian restaurant!… Then you actually end up IN Italy.’
The loved-up couple clearly had an incredible time together. Cheryl later captioned a photo of her Lake Como view: ‘Ciao for now. what a breath taking experience of natures beauty #LakeComo.’
Over on Twitter, Cheryl’s been attempting to keep the conversation a little lighter.
Yesterday, she mused to followers: ‘I cannot get over the heat in London. not that I’m complaining! It was 35 degrees when I got back from my trip yesterday.
‘App you’re supposed to wear spf even if you’re not in direct sun?! I always where 50 spf trust me, it’s worth it #toomanyfreckles.’
However, when a follower challenged her with: ‘Do you even know what SPF means? I bet you DON’T. It’s how often you have to apply it,’ she was (again) quick to respond.
Cheryl said: ‘Sun protection factor & 30 minutes before sun exposure, then every two hours. although mine says once a day.’
We think one thing’s becoming clear… do *not* mess with Cheryl.
