Everything Ms Tilbury does is stellar, right? Where would we be without her iconic Filmstar Bronze And Glow, £49, or her award winning Full Fat Lashes, £22? It doesn’t bare thinking about. So, when she unveiled her new Hot Lips collection, a range of 12 stunning shades, each inspired by the worlds most beautiful and successful women, we pretty much lost it.
The range consist of some of our biggest girl crushes around, each with a suitably named lippy. Poppy Delevingne: Electric Poppy, Miranda Kerr: Miranda May, Kim Kardashain West: Kim K.W., Kate Bosworth: Bosworth’s Beauty, Salma Hayek: Secret Salma, Liv Tyler: Liv it up, Emily Ratajkowski: Hot Emily, Helena Bonham-Carter: Hell’s Bells, Nicole Kidman: Kidman’s Kiss, Cindy Crawford: Super Cindy, Carina Lau: Carina’s Love, Laura Bailey: Tell Laura, Penelope Cruz: Penelope Pink, Sienna Miller: Sexy Sienna, Kate Moss: Nude Kate and Victoria Beckham: Very Victoria.
The shades were created by taking a little bit of each celebrities DNA and creating a lip colour that perfectly embodies them. And while pretty much everyone who’s anyone has a signature lippy, we couldn’t get over the fact that this is essentially glam queen Kim’s first lipstick – move over Kylie! As you can imagine, Kim’s colour is the perfect pale pinky nude. “Kim’s shade just suits her so well,” Charlotte told us. “Whether you like her or not she’s a modern beauty icon and this is just her colour. I even got the go ahead from the ‘momager’!’
“Emily Ratajkowski’s is a Seventies retro coral colour, think Charlies Angels, she’s so sexy. Miranda Kerr has these amazing bright blue eyes so Miranda May is a fresh Malibu Sunset Beach inspired coral pink that compliments her eyes.”
Our personal favourites from the collection are Salma’s Secret, a plumy, dark pink that encapsulates her Latin sex appeal and Miranda May.
For her Hot Lips collection, Charlotte has teamed up with the charity Women for Women International to launch a #LipstickConfidence campaign. The charity offers support to women survivors of war and conflict all over the world, giving them access to skills, education and helping them break free from poverty. £1 from every Hot Lips Lipstick sale will go to the charity over the first two months of the launch and each of the 12 celebrities are being matched with a sister from the charity who they’ll sponsor.
“Regardless of whether or not you are wearing makeup lipstick can make such a huge difference to the way women feel, it’s a hug psychological effect on their confidence, it’s happiness in a tube,” said Charlotte.
The Hot Lips collection is £23 each and will be available online and at the Charlotte Tilbury Covent Garden Store from 27th June. Eeeek! Stay Tuned.
