Cara Delevingne’s make-up look in the new YSL Beaute ad is absolutely flawless. She’s paired a molten metallic silver eye with a gorgeous red glossy lip, her famous bold brow and luminious, dewy skin. What we’re dying to know is what they used on the shoot, and how we can DIY at home.
Well, we caught up with Fred Letailleur, YSL’s Makeup Artist for Northern Europe, to get him to spill his secrets. ‘Recreating Cara’s modern metallic look couldn’t be easier”, he told us. Here’s his easy step-by-step for getting Cara Delevingne’s YSL makeup look.
Step 1: Prep the skin by puffing in a light layer of primer, following by a drop or foundation.
Step 2: Illuinate the skin with the classic Touche Eclat, under the eyes to brighten and on the top of the cheekbones to highlight.
Step 3: Finish the skin with a blurring powder, this will keep the make-up in place and give a subtle matte texture to the skin.
Step 4: Apply primer to the lid, then use a creamy grey/silver eye shadow over the entire lid. Blend the colour high into the inner brow corner for a dramatic look.
