Birthday Girl Olivia Wilde Spills Her Beauty Secrets

Despite admitting her hair once turned green from a doggy dye job (yikes), we can’t get enough of Olivia Wilde. Our all round girl crush, we are super envious of her flawless skin, bouncy locks, and killer figure. So, in honour of the Rush star’s birthday, let’s find out just how Olivia always looks this good!

What’s the secret to your great skin?

I just try to be healthy and get rest. I also make sure I’m kind to my skin – I always wash my face before bed, use a good moisturiser and exfoliate at least once a week.

What do you use to keep your brows looking so neat?

They’re naturally very pointy and sparse, so I fill them out with the help of a good brow pencil. I haven’t plucked them in 10 years, because I once over-plucked when I was young and they never really grew back!

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen and Caudalie Divine Oil

Have you picked up any clever beauty tips from make-up artists?

Yes, Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen, £6.99, is great for creating a cat-eye effect. Plus, it stays put and is easy to apply.

Have you ever had any mega hair disasters?

More than I have time to list here! I’ve dyed it so many times for work, I’m surprised it’s still attached to my head. Once, many years ago, when dyeing it from blonde to dark brown, it turned green with a black stripe. Not a good look.

When have you felt your most beautiful?

Since I’ve been in love with my husband [Jason Sudeikis], which proves it really starts from within.

How do you unwind after a long day?

I love Caudalie’s body oil. I spray it on after a shower to get a nice glow and its floral woody scent is amazing.

>Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream and Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara

If you could only use three beauty products for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?

Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream, £28, Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara, £10.99, and Moroccan Oil for my hair. These things make me feel fresh and ready for the outside world.

> Moroccan Oil Treatment and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry

Do you have any beauty idols?

I’ve always loved Katharine Hepburn, with her strong brows and cheekbones. I admire her unapologetically powerful aesthetic. Recently, I wore dark burgundy lipstick in her honour. Revlon make a lovely one with a velvety finish.
