As Paris Fashion Week kicks off, Sam reveals the must-haves she’s packed for the French capital. Think chic skincare staples and luxe designer make-up.
From trawling early morning backstages to super-cool after parties, this is the power kit to see Sam through from dawn to dusk in gay Paris – the final Fashion Week on the month-long circuit.
Say hello to the French beauty superbuys…
Chloe’s new EDT, £58, is a definite must for PFW. It’s grown up but fun at the same time. I like to apply it like the French ladies do – spray a few puffs into the air, then walk into it for head-to-toe fragrance.
Multi-Use Hair Hero
Christophe Robin Regenerating Finishing Lotion, £36, doesn’t just get rid of build-up of product in my roots (too many blow-dries) but it also works as a dry shampoo. I even use it on my skin to revive heat rash when I’m in a rush.
Sometimes my hair just doesn’t do what I want it to, and at this point in Fashion Month I’m tired and not at all creative. Kerastase Materialiste, £19.50, helps me transform my top knots, fishtail plaits and ponytails into something super-glam.
Towards the end of Fashion Month I love an uplifting splash of colour on my nails. YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer, £19 each, has never bagged me so many compliments. I’m in love with the Bleu Majorelle blue.
Vichy’s new Aqualia Thermal Awakening Eye Balm, £15, revives puffiness and hydrates tired eyes. It’s got a clever cucumber cooling sensation, which is super relaxing after a heavy backstage schedule.
Perfect Parisian Skin
The reason Parisians have perfect porcelain skin is because they don’t bake in the sun. Caudalie’s Resveratrol Face-Lifting Moisturizer SPF20, £39, is a daily must under my make-up, even if the sun’s not out. It’s so light it slips under foundation seamlessly.
Bath Time Treat
I need to utilise all the me-time I can with pampering treats and L’Occitane’s Bath Infusions, £15 for five, are amazing for hotel stays. Dip the little tea bag in warm water and the rebalancing blend makes me sleep like a baby.
Speedy Smokey Eye
No Parisian woman spends longer than 20 minutes getting ready, so speed is essential. Lancome’s Ombre Hynose Stylo Sticks, £20, are amazing for creating a smokey, smouldering eye in seconds – just scribble, then blend and you’re done!
When I come home after shows I need a cleanser that’s going to do the job of multiple products in one. Et voila, meet Guerlain’s Micellar Water Cleanser, £33.75, it removes even the most stubborn eye make-up and smells delicious.
By Terry’s Light-Expert Click Brush Foundation, £48, means I don’t need to carry a brush AND a foundation – it’s an all-in-one handy tool. The click-to-go technology is perfect for touch-ups on the go as I’m zipping around Paris.
