Banana Republic Has Got Us Rethinking Our Workwear

Apart from the obvious envy and sadness we felt after watching the Banana Republic show – partly because it’s made us realise that what we wear to work is totally below par, mostly because don’t have the entire collection – we left with one thing in mind. Those suede shoes.

But, we will return to those later. First, lets talk the show. This year the collection was a stunning mixture of brights, pastels and patterns.

Think baby pinks, peaches and blues, it was almost a scene from a very stylish summer wedding (we imagine this is what Olivia Palermo would be rocking if she so happened to be attending a wedding), with an array of fitted workwear pieces, which left us wondering how we had been getting our work attire so wrong all this time.

Our favourite thing from the show (and believe us, we loved it all) has got to be the stunning pink striped jacket which left us smitten for pink and questioning why we don’t already own a pink coat? Baby pink is back in a big way and Banana Republic are definitely showing us the right way to do it.

Proving that the crop is not going anywhere soon, another stand out piece from the show was this adorable tangerine coloured co-ord which we are desperate to get our hands on in time for summer next year.

Hair and makeup was kept minimal, with some of the models wearing a messy ponytail and others sporting a slicked down deep side parting.

Back to the shoes. You’ve probably already heard the hype about suede fringed heels, and we have seen our fare share of gorgeous ones, but these hit the spot and we will definitely be saving up for a pair of our own to flaunt our feet in next year, but be quick we are sure they will be a sellout.
