We’ve all fallen into a bit of a polish predicament, it’s been cold and dark for as long as we can remember and our trusty blacks, dark reds and nudes have been our go to nail numbers. But, we think it’s about time to time to ditch your winter polishes and upgrade them for some spring shades!
The new nail collections come in brights, off-whites and pretty pastels for you to play with. We’ve handpicked 5 of our favourite polishes that we’re going to be nailing this season.
This baby blue by Barry M is our go to pastel polish. Their Speedy polishes have the hard wear and shine of their old trusty formula but dries in half the time. Add some sparkle like Deborah Lippmann’s Glitter and Be Gay Nail Lacquer, £18.00, to your ring finger for a night out and rock with your denim this weekend.
OPI’s new Infinite Shine collection is quite literally the best thing to hit our office! We all love gel manicures, but having to buy all the equipment and a lamp can be quite annoying, not to mention trying to get them off – which is why, if you’re a gel junkie you need this in your life. The three step system delivers the shine and long wear of gels without the need of an LED light (hurrah!), so you can paint on your gels in the comfort of your own home. Our fave shade is this gorgeous turquoise – team with a grey skirt, white shirt and stacked gold rings for a cool update on spring style.
White nails in spring? So last year. Nails Inc have got us chucking away our pearly polishes and upgrading them with something altogether different. The New White collection varnishes are white-based with a hint of colour, and each one contains Porcelain Flower Extract that help to strengthen and repair your nails. This barely there pink is the perfect white alternative, pair with an all black outfit for maximum nail attention.
Who doesn’t love a coral nail polish? Especially one that’s a candy pastel shade, like Models Own’s new icing collection. Each polish looks good enough to eat and is encased in a limited edition frosted bottle – we want them all! Use a white nail art pen like WAH London 02 White Nail Art Pen, £7.50, to create spots, swirls or draw little hearts on top for a cute finish.
Amidst the pastels you always need a bold polish to brighten your fingers and toes! Take our word for it; this hot pink from Butter London is a cool way to do Barbie chic and will inject some colour into your look without having to change your outfit, or wear any colour at all (yay monochrome). Plus, the superhero formula has lasted three weeks on my toes without a chip in sight – it doesn’t get much better than that!
