The LOOK Show SS10 - Thanks To: Olivia Rubin
Now in her sixth season, Olivia Rubin launched her first womenswear line after graduating from the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College in London. Her final collection was chosen for the prestigious press show and won immediate attention from the media, who cited her printed designs as one of the "standout collections". Rubin previously worked for Alexander McQueen and John Galliano in Paris, where she assisted with Galliano’s mainline collections, designing prints that were chosen for his womenswear SS06 lines. Rubin’s SS07 and SS08 collections were shortlisted for the Fashion Fringe Award Scheme and gave her the platform to exhibit her designs at London Fashion Week. AW09 saw Rubin’s first highly anticipated catwalk show in association with On/Off at the Science Museum. The label’s collections focus on Rubin’s signature graphic prints (including the renowned brick print) and are combined with a refined yet feminine silhouette. It was her quirky prints that led to Rubin’s diffusion collection for ASOS, which was launched for SS09. SS10 sees the launch of her first ‘Oli Fusion by Olivia Rubin’ range for leading e-tailer oli.co.uk later this year. Her mainline collection is stocked throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as on popular e-tailer my-wardrobe.com. An online shop was also launched in 2009 on her website www.oliviarubinlondon.com
Rubin is building an industry presence, featuring regularly in leading British fashion titles, and continues to dress a list of celebrity fans including Cheryl Cole, Fearne Cotton, Pixie Lott and Jaime Winstone.
Olivia has many exciting projects in the pipeline for 2010, and she will continue to add a distinctive edge to London's emerging talent. Go back to The LOOK Show
