Best Spring Jackets: The Ultimate Transitional Cover-Ups

Spring jackets are fashion's answer to transitional dressing. With a mix of coats, blazers and biker jacket-styles, this season's offerings are the key to nailing any-weather dressing.Yup, it's that time of year again. It's still not quite warm enough to shrug off your winter coat and banish it to the back of your wardrobe (sigh!), but it's also not sunny enough to embrace the rays bare-armed, either. So we're here to provide you with the ultimate cover-up: welcome to the LOOK edit of spring jackets. And, drum roll.If you're after summer-inspired florals, as seen on the SS15 catwalks through the likes of Victoria Beckham, we've got you sorted.Or if it's lightweight leather fringing that you're after, such as the gorgeous swish swishing seen on Tom Ford's runway, we've included a few special numbers from Topshop, just for you.If you, like us, have been daydreaming of those candy coloured suede jackets by Burberry, we've got a pretty darn good high street version, from hotspot Miss Selfridge. Don't all rush at once...Layer up in one of these on-trend new-season buys, and make a style statement whilst also keeping warm, whatever the weather. This spring, the high street is boasting an eclectic mix of military-inspired styles, as well as pop candy colours, pretty pastels and monochrome stripes.Whether you're after a classic button-down design, a belted option, or perhaps you'd prefer a new-style duster or waterful cut, there's a whole host of jacket options in our new-season edit. We've whittled it down to the very best on the high street, including trusty favourites Topshop and Zara, so all that's left is for you to decide which you'd like to introduce to your wardrobe. We predict you'll make off with more than one.Oh, and you're welcome...By Laura Jane Turner

The LOOK Edit: Suede Skirts

Suede skirts are having a major fashion moment. With the 70s revival going nowhere and suede pieces all over the catwalks there has never been a better time to invest in this wardrobe staple. This vintage inspired piece has had the seal of approval from fashionistas Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo and Rosie Huntingdon Whitely and if you haven’t got your hands on one yet now is the time.Whether you decide to invest in real suede (it doesn’t come cheap – even on the high street), or plump for the imitation option (a.k.a suedette) your skirt will provide endless outfit options and excellent cost-per-wear value. While suede might not be the most practical of materials (avoid rain and red wine), it is undeniably spring like and provides a much needed switch up from leather now the weather is finally improving. We love wearing ours with ankle boots and a pussy bow blouse but come summer we’ll be switching the boots for mules and the blouse for a silk cami. You might think of suede skirts coming in neutral shades such a tan or black but thanks to the trusty high street you can now pick up options in a whole rainbow of hues. Topshop have an excellent range of bright suede skirts, and we love River Island’s stone grey option. This season suede skirts come in lengths to flatter all body types and personal style choices. Will you plump for a cool mini or a chic midi? Plus, you can pick between wrap around, button down, pencil or A-line styles– there really is one for everyone.Click through to see our edit of high street’s most lust-worthy suede skirts. Trust us, you’re going to want them all.Serious suede fan? Why not also check out our suede dresses gallery.Or, if suede is not your thing take a look at our midi-skirts edit.
