Jennifer Aniston managed to score a double high-five from beauty and fashion journalists at the fragrance launch of her debut perfume, Jennifer Aniston (she changed the name from 'Lolavie' to her own name last minute, apparently), by not only managing to look lovely but also smelling divine too! Jen caused a frenzy in the Harrods beauty aisles as she made a special appearance to promote her new perfume in yet another no-fuss bandeau dress by Valentino. This time she swapped her standard black palette for a fresh and light shade, but managed to keep her signature glossy hairstyle – why change the formula when it works so well? SD

First a guest appearance on The X Factor, then whisperings of a movie and now her very own fragrance! Is there anything Katy Perry can’t do?

In a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Katy spilled the beans on her debut scent, saying: “There are amazing fragrances backed by other celebrities, but what I'm bringing is not like any other. I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I'd smelled before.” Well, we’re certainly intrigued!

Of course, in true Katy Perry style, everything about the perfume is ultra-kitsch – from the cat-shaped bottle (yes, really!) to the totally girlie mix of fruit, roses and sweet vanilla. Due to hit the shelves in the US in November, annoyingly we’ll have to wait a little longer… watch this space. Oh, but if you do happen to be Christmas shopping in New York, pick us up a bottle! Dannii Minogue scored another fashion hit last night at the launch of her first-ever fragrance, Project D by Dannii, at the prestigious Harvey Nichols store in London. The X Factor judge looked effortlessly chic in one of her stunning Project D creations as she celebrated with business partner Tabitha Somerset Webb and celebs including Donna Air, Beverley Knight and Tamara Beckwith. The gorgeous Aussie star mixed her dip-dye dress with plain black heels, understated jewellery and a super-glossy hairstyle to up the glam factor. She definitely gets our vote. SD

• Gucci Guilty, £34.50

Beauty Editor: This sure packs a pink pepper punch but the fruity notes stop it from being too harsh. Keep this one firmly in your handbag though, the boyfriends will be after it too! Claire: The bottle’s so bling, it brightened up my whole dressing table! It made me feel expensive. Plus I sprayed it before work and it still got me noticed on the train home! Beauty Score: 5/5  

• Beyonce Heat, £22.50

Beauty Editor: Packed with cinnamon, almonds and all things winter, this one’s a dead cert for the Christmas list. It’s a little on the heavy side, so make sure you let it settle before heading out the house. Claire: I thought this was much more impressive than the usual celebrity perfumes - it has a more exclusive feel. I preferred the packaging of the other fragrances though. Beauty Score: 2/5  

• YSL Opium, £40

Beauty Editor: This spicy scent immediately makes you think of cosy winter evenings and log fires. Quite a grown-up scent, so great when you need a confidence boost. Claire: I found this a little overpowering at first, but once it settled on my skin it smelt gorgeous. Definitely one for winter and would also make a lovely gift as it’s so luxurious. Beauty Score: 4/5

• Christian Dior Dolce Vita, £35

 Beauty Editor: An oriental fragrance that’s a little bit woody but still ultra feminine. The ornate vintage style bottle is definitely worth holding onto long after you’ve used all the perfume. Claire: I liked this because it really smelt of vanilla so it was girlier than the others. It worked for both day and night so I’ll definitely keep wearing it well into the New Year. Beauty Score: 3/5
