We love festivals! The music, the sunshine, the clothes and the hair; but there’s a lot of prep work that goes into looking effortlessly cool at a music festival. Those of you who are festival regulars will probably already know just how much time and effort it takes to coordinate your outfit and accessories – and on top of that there’s your hair to think about.
More often than not your hair can be a total nightmare at festivals – heat and humidity + dancing all day and night = messy, straggled strands. Which is why we think you should embrace an updo. Free flowing hair might look great on the first day but if you’re camping, which we’re pretty sure you will be, there wont be any showers, hairdryers or straighteners in sight. So, when your hair starts to look less chic and more shabby, work a braid or a plait. There are so many to choose from – the possibilites are endless and you can be sure that once you’ve created your cool updo it’s going to stay put.
And don’t skip o your festival hair accessories. It’s not all about wearing a floral headband, ditch the flower crowns and make a statement with braids, feathers, colourful hair bands – the more the better! Do like Jourdan Dunn and Kylie Jenner and experiment with temporary colours – hair chalks and pastel sprays let you shift your shade for a few days and then wash it all out. Easy peasy!
But, we know how it is, sometimes you’re struggling for ideas, and what better a place to get them from than all the celebs who’ve already rocked amazing styles at festivals. From Coachella to Bestival, Glastonberry to V – make a statement and steal some inspo from our gallery of the ultimate festival hairstyles this summer!
