Zayn Malik Debuts His Emotional Second Single It’s You

Zayn Malik fans, it’s a VERY exciting day.

Not only has the 23-year-old unveiled the album artwork for his debut solo album Mind Of Mine, but he’s also debuted his second single It’s You.

Zayn performed the soulful ballad on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night, marking his first performance since quitting One Direction last March.

Zayn’s previously hinted that It’s You was written about his ex-fiancée Perrie Edwards, telling Apple Music’s Beats 1 that he started recording Mind Of Mine when they were still engaged.

Beats 1 host Zane Lowe noted: ‘There’s a song on the record called It’s You, which is to me I can tell a real centre-piece for the album. Vocally certainly.

‘It’s about the break-up of your relationship, clearly.’

In the same interview, Zayn revealed: ‘I just felt like I needed to put myself out there a bit on that because it was a form of therapy for me, and it did help me get through some s***.

‘So if it can help someone else at that time, then that’s cool.’

The majority of people seemed impressed with Zayn’s performance. One commented: ‘Omg @zaynmalik i’m so proud of You!!!’ while another (rather excitable) fan wrote: ‘#ZAYNOnFallon WAS AMAZING.’

Zayn Malik’s performance drew mixed reviews

However, others thought the Bradforn-born star appeared a tad nervous, with Tweets including: ‘You could tell zayn was so so nervous up there’ and: ‘Boy why you gotta mumble your whole song?’

Um. It was his first EVER solo performance, guys! Let’s cut him some slack, eh?

And *this* is Zayn Malik’s album cover!

Now, let’s talk about that album cover. Zayn’s opted for a super-cute snap of himself as a toddler – with his famous tattoos Photoshopped onto his arms.

The record is due out on 25 March, which is exactly one year to the day since he left his 1D bandmates behind.

We don’t know why, but we have a sneaky suspicion it’s gonna do rather well…
