Ooh. So Zayn Malik’s been making friends in very high places.
The 23-year-old has revealed that Taylor Swift gave him the seal of approval on his debut album Mind Of Mine, after they were introduced by his girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
Gigi is one of T-Swizzle’s closest squad members – but Zayn still couldn’t help feeling a little starstruck by the 26-year-old. Well, can you blame him?!
He tells Dazed: ‘I spoke a bit to Taylor. At Gigi’s house we briefly spoke and she told me she really enjoyed the album.
‘It was nice to get some feedback. She said she thought I was cool and I kind of blushed a bit and didn’t know how to take it.’
Aw. We’re glad to hear that Zayn and Gigi are back on track. It was only yesterday that PEOPLE reported they’d gone through a brief break-up because she’d ‘caught him in a handful of lies and couldn’t take the mystery anymore’.
A source alleged: ‘Gigi gave it to him, and now he’s determined to prove himself to her.’ Hmmm…
Whatever the case, Gigi was all about supporting her man when he opened up about his battle with anxiety at the weekend.
Zayn had been due to headline Capital FM’s Summertime Ball on Saturday. However, an hour and a half before he was supposed to go on stage, he wrote a heartbreaking Instagram post to fans explaining why he wouldn’t be turning up.

He said: ‘Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me.’
Taking to Twitter to gush about Zayn’s bravery, Gigi wrote: ‘Z – I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans.
‘Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real.
‘Human recognises human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer.’
We’re totally with Gigi on this one. Anxiety affects millions of people a year, so we’re so glad Zayn’s brave enough to speak out about it.
