X Factor’s Kye Sones Voted Off Show After Tense Deadlock

Kye Sones was voted off The X Factor last night after a tense deadlock which saw Rylan Clark saved.

The singer, who was mentored by Gary Barlow, sang Jason Mraz’s I Won’t Give Up – and all the judges agreed it was his best performance to date. But Rylan shocked the audience by singing a stripped-back rendition of Des’ree’s Kissing You, showing off the full extent of his vocals for the first time.

The acts received an equal amount of votes – with Nicole Scherzinger opting to save her own act, and Gary saving his. Louis Walsh chose to save Kye, but Tulisa controversially saved Rylan, saying: “Kye that was one of your best vocal performances tonight. When it comes down to it it’s not just a singing competition, this is The X Factor.

“The act I look forward to seeing each week is Rylan. The act I’m sending home is Kye.”

Yikes. Dermot then took the vote to deadlock, which saved Rylan. Kye was in good spirits, revealing that he was already working on an album which he’ll release soon.

Kye has been best friends with Fearne Cotton since they were teenagers. She tweeted last night: “Gutted. Kye was amazing in the sing off tonight. Love you mate x.” Aww! RM
