The Sad Reason Taylor Swift Missed The Billboard Awards

You may have noticed that someone pretty big was missing from the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night.

Yep. Taylor Swift, 26, gave the Las Vegas ceremony a miss, despite being nominated for a whopping eight awards.

She even won the Top Touring Artist gong, beating out strong contenders Madonna, One Direction, The Rolling Stones and U2.

Taylor Swift has been a regular at the ceremony since 2011

Taylor’s been a fixture at the event since 2011 (although she did skip it in 2014), and even posed on the red carpet with squad members including Martha Hunt and Lily Aldridge last year.

So why the no-show this time around? Well, according to reports, it was all because of boyfriend Calvin Harris.

TBH, this is completely understandable. It was a very worrying weekend for Taylor, with news breaking that Calvin had been involved in a car crash.

According to Hollywood Life, the Scottish DJ was rushed to A&E after his vehicle was rammed by another on his way to LAX Airport on Friday night.

Law enforcement sources reportedly told the site that Calvin was a passenger in a Cadillac SUV when a Volkswagen Beetle convertible crashed into theirs.

Calvin sustained ‘acute injuries’, and girlfriend Taylor was allegedly his first call.

Now a source has explained that Taylor chose to stay by his side rather than fly to Vegas, telling the site: ‘She wants Calvin to make sure he really does take the time off needed to recover from the car crash because he’s always running at a hundred miles an hour and doesn’t know when to stop.

‘Taylor will make sure, this time, that he puts his feet up and doesn’t lift a finger until he’s better.’
