Why Super Bowl Weekend Was TOTALLY Worth Watching

The Super Bowl, branded as the biggest night in America’s sporting calender, never fails to offer up a glittering show.

Not only does the weekend revolve around smouldering American football stars in skintight trousers, but music’s biggest acts take to the stage to entertain one hungry crowd for the half-time performance.

And 2014’s Super Bowl XLVIII certainly didn’t disappoint. Not only were we treated to a clash of pop and rock heaven as Bruno Mars duetted with Red Hot Chilli Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis for a 12 minute musical mash-up, but the evening before offered up a bit of a treat too.

Our fave husband and wife superteam Beyoncé and Jay-Z performed a sassy rendition of Drunk In Love during Jay’s DirecTV Super Saturday Night concert. Queen B surprised her hubby’s adoring fans by appearing on stage for the pre-football party in New York.

Plus, David Beckham got his kecks off (TWICE) on a huge widescreen plasma thanks to H&M’s rather raunchy Superbowl advert. Aren’t they good to us?

Besides the belting pop performances and casual celebrity nudity, a host of Hollywood faces also turned up to catch the Seahawks vs Broncos last night. Jamie Foxx, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Kevin Costner and even our Breaking Bad crush Aaron Paul were among the Sunday night crowd.

So you see, sometimes it is worth tuning into the footie. Monday night on-demand catch up, anyone?
