According to The Mirror, the French beauty firm were looking to drop long-standing face of the brand Cheryl after disapproving of that cheeky bottom inking of hers. And Oscar-winning songstress Adele was first on their wishlist…
‘L’Oréal was in negotiations for the deal with Adele and it looked to be happening – but she just changed her mind on it’, a source told the newspaper. ‘L’Oréal is gobsmacked that she turned down such a huge amount.’
To be fair, with her whopping £35 million fortune safely nestled in the bank, Adele’s hardly in need of the extra cash. And considering she’s been pretty vocal about not wanting to use her celebrity and ‘sell out’ to big-hitting brands, perhaps it’s not such a shocking decision for the down-to-earth North London lass after all.
‘I don’t want my name anywhere near another brand’, the Skyfall singer said back in 2011. ‘I don’t want to be tainted or haunted. I think it’s shameful when you sell out.’
