'I am just one of those people that kept myself to myself, I just wanted to play football and that’s all I ever wanted'
Wayne Bridge has opened up to his I’m A Celebrity campmates about his marriage to wife Frankie.
In a candid chat, the 36-year-old admitted that he finds being in the public eye difficult, and that it took some adjusting to when they first got together.
Because while Wayne had been a successful footballer for a number of years, Frankie was the focus of more publicity thanks to her role in The Saturdays.
Wayne said: ‘We were in Manchester on only the second or third time we’d seen each other and we popped out to Blockbuster and as we left the shop the paps were in the car park.
‘Some of the stuff she’s gone through press-wise… she’d end up reading it all and it would end up affecting her, that’s what upsets me more than anything.
‘I have had so many things that I could say, that I never thought at the time it was right, so now I never say anything.
‘I am just one of those people that kept myself to myself, I just wanted to play football and that’s all I ever wanted.’

Despite the slightly rocky start to their relationship, Wayne is now happily married to Frankie, 27, and they have sons Parker and Carter together.
She recently flew to Australia to support her hubby, Tweeting yesterday: ‘Come on @WayneBridge 🐍🕷#imaceleb #teamwayne.’
And earlier this week, she wrote: ‘Watching in Oz. So weird being so close to @WayneBridge but not able to see him! #teamwayne #imaceleb.’
Aw. Not long until you’re reunited, lady!
