The Saturdays’ Mollie King wasn’t always part of one of the UK’s most successful girl bands – this week, a video has surfaced of a pre-Saturdays Mollie trying her luck auditioning for the X Factor.
A longer-locked Mollie first appeared on the show back in 2005 when she auditioned solo and was told by outspoken former judge Sharon Osbourne, “you dress way too inappropriately.” Not put off by the rejection, King returned again in 2007 with back-up as part of girl group Fallen Angelz. What a name.
The group all wore matching baggy jeans while they performed a rendition of Avril Lavinge’s hit tune, Girlfriend, and got four yes’ from the panel – including a smug Simon Cowell.
26-year-old Molls isn’t the only famous face to have graced the X Factor stage, either; The Wanted‘s Max George, who is currently dating TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, also featured on the show as a baby-faced solo act singing Bill Withers’ classic Lean On Me.
Mollie’s band Fallen Angelz may not have won the show but our favourite blonde beauty has definitely won us over as one fifth of The Saturdays. Who needs Simon Cowell, anyway…
Catch Mollie and Max’s hilarious auditions on ITV’s You Saw Them Here First on Wednesdays at 8pm.
