Hosts Rylan Clark and Matt Edmonson are forced to apologise to viewers...

If you tuned into The Xtra Factor last night, you’ll know that it was packed full of dramz.

Rylan Clark and Matt Edmonson announced the Judges’ Houses wildcards – Ryan Lawrie for the boys, Samantha Lavery for the girls, Saara Aalto for the overs and Yes Lad for the groups.

They also revealed that overs contestant Ivy Grace Paredes had pulled out due to visa issues.

Not only that, but the 33-year-old has been replaced by… Honey G! Yep, after initially being denied a seat in the Six Chair Challenge by mentor Sharon Osbourne, the rapper is back.

But it wasn’t just Rylan and Matt’s news that got people talking. Unfortunately, the ITV2 show was also affected by an awkward technical issue.

As the hosts chatted to panellists Luisa Zissman, Angela Scanlon and Jamelia about Judges’ Houses, the picture cut out for a number of viewers.

This left them staring at a test card reading ‘Greenwich, Data Centre Switch’. Eep.

Of course, confused Tweets came flooding in. Comments included: ‘What just happened on @ITV 2? #XtraFactor,’ ‘#XtraFactor anyone else’s sound and video just cut out? #oops,’ and: ‘Well #XtraFactor that’s amazing your live and we lose sound 👍🏻 [sic].’

When the signal eventually returned, Matt and Ryan apologised for the incident.

Rylan explained: ‘Before we move on, we have just been told… I’m so sorry if you lost your picture during the last part… don’t worry Simon [Cowell] will sack them.’

Matt then added: ‘Don’t get a new telly.’

Lolz. Let’s hope nothing like that happens during the live finals, eh?
