The New Tarzan Images Are Smoking Hot

The long-awaited Legend Of Tarzan is due for release in July of next year and we now finally have the first images of Alexander Skårsgard as Tarzan and Margot Robbie as Jane. And one thing’s for sure, the True Blood actor’s training seems to have paid off.

While Tarzan seems (unfortunately) to have traded in his loincloth for a pair of trousers, thankfully he still hasn’t found a shirt meaning we have the opportunity to gawk at Alexander’s incredible physique.

Speaking to USA Today, the actor spoke about the gruelling training regime he undertook to get him in shape for the film. “I basically didn’t see my family or friends,” but he admitted but said that it “was definitely worth getting up at 4.30 in the morning [for].” We in agreement.

“It’s almost the opposite of the classic tale, where it’s about taming the beast. This is about a man who’s holding back and slowly as you peel off the layers, he reverts back to a more animalistic state and lets that side of his personality out,” he explained about the film plot.

Alongisde Alexander is Margot Robbie who has gone redhead for her role as Jane. In the released imagery, Jane’s arms are covered in scratches, but the director, David Yates, explains that she is no damsel in distress:

“[She’s] in no way a passive partner to Tarzan. She’s a really strong, assertive, beautifully knowledgeable, very sexy modern woman who can more than look after herself. In a way, it’s a story of two human beings and how they save each other.”

We haven’t seen Tarzan on the big screen since 1999 when Disney remade the story and with the likes of Christoph Waltz, Samuel L Jackson, John Hurt and the Harry Potter director on board, there’s alot more to be excited about than just Alexander Skårsgard’s muscles, although that will definitely help get us into the cinema.
