This Is A LOOK Promotion
It’s the coming-of-age, teen angst film that we can all relate to – and you can see it for free!
The Edge Of Seventeen is just like your own high school experience but, if possible, with more awkwardness thrown in…
‘There are two types of people in the world, the people who naturally excel at life and the people who hope all those people die in a big explosion.’ Meet Nadine.
She’s 17, desperately trying to navigate high school, full of teen angst and feels like a constant loser. Er, we’ve all been there…
In The Edge Of Seventeen, Nadine – played by the brilliant Hailee Steinfeld (how much did we love her in Pitch Perfect 2?!) – is basically us as a teen, an overthinker who says what she thinks way too often, which somehow always gets her into some sort of awkward or embarrassing situation. Oops.
Of course, it doesn’t help that Nadine’s older, super-hot brother Darian (Blake Jenner) is the
most popular guy at school. In fact, the only person who can keep up with Nadine’s filter-free attitude is Krista (Haley Lu Richardson), her BFF and partner in crime.
So imagine Nadine’s horror when she catches Krista in bed with her brother, and Krista starts to become everything Nadine despises. Throwback to your first fight with your best mate. So. Much. Drama.
Woody Harrelson plays Nadine’s favourite teacher Mr Bruner, a hilarious but often unhelpful confidante during her worst, most cringe-inducing moments – like when she sends a text to her crush asking him to ‘do it with her in the storeroom’.
We’ve all had that teenage crush, sent those embarrassing texts and dealt with many ‘but why me?’ moments, and there’s nothing better than watching it happen to someone else on screen, trust us.
