Suranne Jones Announces She’s Pregnant At The NTAs

The National Television Awards was a very special event for Suranne Jones.

Not only did her much-acclaimed drama Doctor Foster pick up two awards, but she also announced that she was pregnant!

We must say, it was quite a shock for everyone when the 37-year-old stepped onto the red carpet with a beautiful baby bump.

Looking absolutely glowing, she’d nailed maternity dressing in a black Isabella Oliver gown, which featured a one-shoulder bodice and a flowing skirt.

Suranne added a pop of colour with green drop earrings, while her brunette locks had been teased into a glamorous chignon.

We were also big fans of her dramatic smoky eyes and pink lip gloss. Miaow, lady.

Suranne married magazine editor Laurence Akers in 2014, following a whirlwind romance that saw them getting engaged six weeks after meeting at a wedding.

She was happy to talk about their exciting news yesterday, telling the Daily Mirror: ‘Yeah, I’m pregnant! We have been married nearly a year and a half now and what a wonderful way to kind of move our marriage on.

‘We’re dying to celebrate the new arrival.’ Aw.

She received a huge cheer when she was announced as the winner of Best Drama Performance, for her role as Dr Gemma Foster in Doctor Foster.

The BBC show also nabbed the New Drama gong, so it was a pretty incredible evening for the cast and crew all round.

Suranne got fans very excited during her speech for the latter award, revealing: ‘We start filming Doctor Foster series two in September so you can look forward to that.’

Ooh! We’re not sure we can wait that long, though…
