We don’t know about you, but we found last night’s Love Island totes emosh.
Sure, there was the usual couple drama (yup, we’re looking at you Kady and Scott), but there was also a very moving tribue to Zara Holland.
Just so you’re all caught up, there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the decision to strip Zara of her Miss Great Britain title, following a steamy night in the hideaway with newcomer Alex.
The beauty pageant organisation has been labelled ‘sexist’ and accused of ‘slut-shaming’, and there’s even a petition to win the Love Island contestant her crown back.
We all knew just how much Zara’s Miss GB title meant to her (because, let’s be honest, she did mention it a couple of times). So our hearts really went out to her when she found out the news, particularly as it was followed by Zara’s exit from the show, due to her mum’s illness.
But last night, the Love Island villa decided to host its very own pageant, to pay homeage to the beauty queen.
The girls each took to the stage to showcase their talent.
Malin drew a caricature of Zara, Kady tap danced and Sophie sang – oh, and we’re still not over Cara’s epic fire breathing.
Each islander then had to make a speech. Nope, nobody talked about world peace, but Sophie – who is a former Miss Great Britain herself – took the opportunity to hit back at the pageant’s controversial decision.
She said, ‘Life shouldn’t be about judging one another.
‘For example, judging a young woman for enjoying herself.
‘A young woman who hasn’t harmed anyone but a woman who has faced a torrent of judgemental and close minded opinions since leaving Love Island.

‘As an ex Miss Newscastle and Miss GB I can say that it’s time people moved forward from their old fashioned thinking and accepted the simple fact that women like to have sex.’
We couldn’t have said it better.
