And when it comes to dishing out this superfood, most of us have got into the habit of scooping out and serving our avocados with little thought on presentation.. But before you go on chopping up your avocados, you might want to check out this cool new way of serving them… Avocado shavings. Yep, and it’s super easy, too!

All you need to do is take an avocado that’s slightly under-ripe, cut it in half, take out the stone and remove the skin. Then, take a Y-shaped peeler and begin to cut thin ribbon like slices of the avocado. Once you’re done, squeeze a little bit of lemon and a pinch of salt, and you’re good to go! Talk about faking gourmet presentation skills.

Shaving your avocados will definitely come in handy when you have friends over for a meal – especially with all of these fab shaved avocado recipes that are suddenly EVERYWHERE.

If you’re going for a quick lunchtime starter, then keep it simple with a classic rye bread toast, cream cheese and avocado shavings, Yum.
