The Scottish singer was accused of something pretty unpleasant after Saturday night's live show...
This year’s X Factor has been full of ‘fix’ rumours, and Saturday night was no exception.
It was 20-year-old Ryan Lawrie who caused a stir this time, after he was accused of miming during his performance of The Beatles’ Twist & Shout.
Viewers were convinced that they heard Ryan’s vocals as he held his microphone away from his mouth, with one Tweeting: ‘Hahaha shoutout to Ryan for being the absolute CHAMP at miming [sic].’
Others wrote: ‘Thought Ryan was pretty good until he slipped up and showed us he was blatantly miming #xfactor,’ ‘Awkz that Ryan just totally gave away that they’ve been miming their performances 😂 #xfactor,’ and: ‘Pretty sure Ryan was miming that 🤔 #xFactor.’
Hmm. The X Factor bosses have since rubbished this speculation.
A spokeperson tells The Sun: ‘All contestants sing live and no one mimes. Ryan’s mic was live throughout his performance.’
And happily for Ryan, the incident didn’t seem to affect his chances of being voted into to the next round.
After being in the bottom three for three weeks running, the Scottish singer finally made it straight through to next week’s show.
He was clearly thrilled, Tweeting: ‘THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! YOU GUYS HAVE GOT ME THROUGH TO WEEK 6!!!!❤❤.’

His girlfriend Emily Middlemas was also delighted, writing on her page: ‘I also want to say how massively proud I am of @RyanLawrie_ he was amazing tonight!! YES BABY ❤️❤️.’
It was girl band Four Of Diamonds who ultimately ended up going home, losing out in the sing-off to Sharon Osbourne’s act Saara Aalto.
