Kensington Palace announced the big news today via an official statement. “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce the christening of Prince George will take place on Wednesday, 23rd October at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace”, it read.
“Prince George will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby”, they added.
Kate and Wills’ firstborn will be christened in a small private ceremony with just close family and friends in attendance. The future King is also expected to follow royal tradition by wearing a replica of a white Honiton lace and satin gown made in 1841 for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter.
We hope Kate and Wills carry on their tradition of sharing family snaps and give us all a sneaky peek at little Georgie in his gown! Aw.
